The Show was established in 1893 by a small group of local farmers who wanted to show their horses and livestock and a field was used in the centre of the town of Nefyn to hold the event. The 2023 Show will be Show number 125.
For many years the Show moved between sites in the Nefyn and Morfa Nefyn area, but for the last 35 years the Show has been held at Botacho Wyn, Nefyn.
The Show was traditionally held on Easter Monday in 2004 we decided to move to the May Bank Holiday and since then it has been held on this date.
Sioe Nefyn is the first Show of the year and we start off the Show season.
The Committee strive to have something for everybody – competitions for cattle, sheep, horses, dogs, cookery and craft. There are also poultry competitions when rules allow. The Show has trade and craft stands – something for everybody.
The Committee, although small in number, are extremely hard working.
